Service Overview

First Time Adult Passport

You are required to obtain and complete an application form. Along with your application form, you will be required to submit the following documents:

• Birth Certificate/Adoption Certificate or Jamaican Citizenship Certificate
• Two (2) identical photographs (NB: only one photograph must be certified and this should be done by the same certifying official who certified your application)
• A valid Government-issued photo identification (Example: driver’s license, voter identification).
• Proof of name change if the name has been changed (Marriage Certificate, Deed poll, Divorce Decree, Court Order

  Renewing Adult Passport

  • You are required to obtain and complete an application form. If there has been no change to your name, then you would fill out a Simplified Adult Renewal Passport Application Form. 

Along with your application form, you will be required to submit the following documents:

• Current Passport
• Two (2) identical passport-sized photographs (Certification is only required if the applicant has changed his or her name and only one of the photographs is to be certified. Certification must be done by the same official who certified the application form)
• Proof of name change if the name has been changed (Marriage Certificate, Deed poll, Divorce Decree, Court Order)
• Processing Fee: ($6,500.00). A Visa, Master debit or credit card will be required for persons applying online

PLEASE NOTE: If there has been no change to your name then certification of your document and photograph is no longer required when submitting an application for renewal of an adult passport ONLY. Additionally, the adult applicant may not be required to provide his/her birth certificate.

Expedited Services

The regular turnaround time for processing a passport application is seven working days for applications submitted at the office in Kingston. 
Expedited services are available to our customers who desire a quicker turnaround time.
